PURCELLVILLE — Kris Malsch doubled and later scored on a passed ball to lift James Wood to a Conference 21 victory over Woodgrove in eight innings.

Malsch also got the victory, striking out three in the final 12/3 innings. Bryan Whitacre struck out five through 71/3 innings for the Colonels (6-4, 3-0 conference).

The Colonels scored a pair of runs after wild pitches to rally to take a 2-1 lead in the top of the seventh before Woodgrove scored a run in the bottom half of the inning to force extras. KaCee Duggan went 3 for 4 for Wood.
