LEESBURG- After trailing 7-1 after two innings, James Wood rallied but came up just short in a non-district loss to Loudoun County Monday.

Kyle Hevner (2 for 3 with a double) hit a two-out RBI single in the seventh to make it 9-8, but the game ended one batter later on a strikeout.

For the Colonels (3-3), A.J. Eubank went 2 for 3 with two runs and tripled in three runs in James Wood's four-run fourth. Jordan Iden (0-1) took the loss, but 4 innings of six-hit relief from Zach Webster and Dan Malsch helped James Wood rally.
