What do you love about baseball?: I love that it's a game of inches, and every single small detail matters and could change a game.
Most memorable moment in baseball: My sophomore year, we were playing in the first round of states at Amherst County, and the environment was crazy. And when I was warming up in the bullpen, I was just throwing every pitch as hard as I could. (James Wood defeated Amherst County 3-2 in the state quarterfinals.)
Most embarrassing moment in baseball: One time, I was the starting pitcher for my team my freshman year, and I couldn't even make it out the first inning.
Most difficult moment in baseball: Definitely tearing my [ulnar collateral ligament] at the start of my junior year and having to go under Tommy John [surgery]. It was pretty hard with all the stress and the questions that I was asking myself.
Three people you can have dinner with, dead or alive: Nolan Ryan. I like hearing all the stories about him, and I would like to sit down and talk to him about those stories.
Biggest athletic influence?: Definitely my dad. He’s the reason where I am today.
Favorite teacher: [Frederick County Middle School history teacher] Mr. Anthony Boring. He was a cool guy. He made it fun to come to class. [Content creator] Vic Blends. He posts videos online talking with strangers. He seems pretty cool to talk to. Randy Orton; he was one of my favorite professional wrestlers growing up.
Favorite athlete: (Mixed martial artist and professional boxer) Nate Diaz
Favorite sports team: Carolina Panthers
Favorite movie: “Cars 3”
Favorite TV show: “The First 48”
Favorite song: “Here For A Good Time” by George Strait
Favorite food: My mom’s quesadillas
Worst thing you’ve eaten: A dog treat. It looked like a Cheez-It, and I tried it and it was not.
Plans after high school: I'm going to attend Paul D. Camp Community College to play baseball and eventually try to transfer to a four-year school. I’m not totally decided on what I’m going to study.
