WINCHESTER — Parker Kerns struck out 10 batters and walked none in a three-hit shutout as James Wood defeated Kettle Run on Thursday.
The Colonels (9-6) also were held to three hits but did not need any to score the game's only run in the first inning. Kemper Omps reached on an error, stole second, and scored on a groundball error by the shortstop.
For James Wood, John Copenhaver and Logan Bower each went 1-for-3 and Coby Nesselrodt went 1-for-2.
