YORK, Pa. — No. 22 Shenandoah University ran its winning streak to six games Thursday afternoon with a non-conference win at York College of Pennsylvania.

Shenandoah (16-6) banged out 17 hits against the Spartans (8-9-1). The Hornets led 7-3 after five innings, then exploded 10 runs over the three innings after that to put York away.

Senior Nick Goode (five RBIs) drove in all of SU’s eighth-inning runs with a grand slam home run to left center, which went 390 feet.

All nine starters got at least one hit with Robert Marcelle and Luke Nussman (two RBis each) and Matt Moon (one RBI) getting three hits each.

SU sophomore Gerard DePhillips (3-1) allowed three runs on nine hits and three walks while striking out three in six innings.

Shenandoah returns home tomorrow for a 2 p.m. ODAC doubleheader versus Emory and Henry.
