The James Wood Baseball Diamond Club meetings will be held the 1st Sunday of the month at the James Wood High School Library at 6:00 pm.

We are also selling JW camouflage  hats, see Mike Prelip or Kevin Copley to purchase a hat.

Former Wood Player Earns D3 Honors

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Shenandoah University had two baseball players earn All-America honors in selections announced Wednesday morning by D3baseball.com.

Juniors Kevin Brashears and Greg Van Sickler (James Wood) were both named first team All-America by D3baseball.com with Brashears picking up his honor in the outfield and Van Sickler at utility.

Brashears, who leads the team with a .429 average and a school record 87 hits, adds his first All-America accolade to a career in which he has been named as the 2009 Salisbury Regional Most Outstanding Player and the 2010 USA South Conference Tournament MVP.

Van Sickler, a 2009 ABCA All-America, the 2010 ABCA South Region Player of the Year and the 2010 USA South Conference Pitcher of the Year, is hitting .411 with a school record 27 doubles in addition to winning eight of his 10 decisions on the mound.
